Take a look at this....
Sorry but I've got a deal with the Monkey. I must p..o..s..t.. p..i..c..s
(If you were curious that's Dave from Dave's Tournament and a couple pics from his booth. Also the Bug Boat has risen from the ashes. The 18' with the Merc 150 was listed at $20,995 - I'm sure they would have taken a little off to make the sale). |

The topwater baits and crankbaits are Megabass and other exotic brands that were being sold in the same booth I had some tackle. There were plenty of Veggie Stix for sale too.

i have yet to be to a tackle show or boat show this year with booths that impressive. i am going to the tulsa boat show in a few weeks and it is supposed to be huge so i hope it has some good stuff. if nothing else i will get to see "twiggy" the water skiing squirrel so that will be cool.

Dave's Tournament is impressive. He's always making spinnerbaits as he's talking to you. They'll put together any combination spinnerbait or jig that you want. The crankbaits were in the booth I was in and the new boats were behind Dave's booth. There were two other retailers that were as big or bigger than Dave's. He's been at the show for years and started out sharing a booth building spinnerbaits. Although things have been tough this show has improved the last two years yet the retailers didn't do as well as we hoped. Online competition and the Wal-mart type stores (you know who I'm talking about) have really hurt the small local retailers. The recession hasn't helped either.

Yeah that looks cool, but i went to the 2008 classic on Hartwell and the EXPO is AMAZING strait up the best thing ever. I mean its like Bass Pro with none of the filler, just the baits, boats, and rods. Its was HUGE. It took us two days to see it all and by the third day we kind of knew our way around. That place was a mait monkeys paradise. It get exspensive with the new lifetime BASS membership, but it was one of the coolest things ever.
