Default New PB Smallie

What a great weekend, I got in some quality fishing time everyday up at the lake. I was catching the smallies on a variety of lures at the usual spots including roboworm ds, husky jerk, x-rap, bomber 6a, and challenger minnow. This morning I hit up a new spot, it was a rock shelf off an island that drop from 5' to 20'. I anchored my canoe in the shallow area and made casts with the drop shot into the deep area and dragged it up the ledge. Caught a couple average smallies then finally a pig hit it. She put up a great fight made the line scream and put on a aerobatic display. I netted her and snapped a few pics then let her go. She measured in at 20'', didnt have a scale put I assumed she would go around 3lbs.

Nice fish man! Real nice!

Now I don't fish smallmouth's cause I'm in Fl. But a bass down here that 20" will go 4 - 6lbs depending on how fat they are. I'd say it's probably 4.5, maybe 5!

I would guess her heavier than that. My PB smallmouth was 20" and weighed 5lbs even. That was in early March so she was fat but that still looks bigger than 3lbs.

May I ask why you're digging up threads that are 6 months old? Especially ones as irrelevant as this. I could see digging up one with some good information in it, but not a 6 month old "New PB!" thread.
