;D If Shimano is really the King, then why are you having to get new parts for them ? ;D Thanks, for the laughs ,I really don't have nothing against Shimano, I know they make a good Shimano reel, I just haven't seen it yet. The best thing about them is the bass clubs don't give those who use a Shimano reel a handicap during tournaments, like golfers or bowlers would get if Shimano equipment were being used. ;D P N J

I'm looking forward to next thurs gonna prefish with a boater for our next torueny, and he has casting decks. The reason I said that is the 7'6" is just a tad to long for being recessed as you are in my boat. I will be using a 7' rod this weekend out of my boat. I am getting a lot better at pitching, really haven't spent much time on the flipping yet. But I can manage with that already. Yes we will have to get together, we could all go to the coal pit, perhaps you and IL could show me where the 10lbers are Or I will be happy to come up your way, always liked the NE coast, just haven't fished it tons. Fished some in NH, and Conn. But that's about it.

Jraap, I was picking, thought it was funny to post they are the best when they needed parts already whether it seemed to be your fault or not.Maybe if the service dept did not try to charge me $17.00 + shipping for a spool tension knob, I would still be with Shimano today, but they didn't, so I am not or will ever be again. I think the money that you paid for a Shimano, they should do something for you to get it working again.I will always be putting a word in for Quantum products, they have stood behind their products from day one. This was probably 6 years ago, maybe even 8 years ago now.It has been a mission of mine to criticize their products every since. That same year as the Shimano incident, I bought 4 Quantum energy series reels to tournament fish with, the reel engage broke or came undone on a reel , I sent it to Quantum and they replaced it with a brand new reel, not the same beat up reel I sent them to fix. I have not had a problem since except for a rod, I used braided power pro and it looped around the rod tip and It broke when I set the hook, I called them ,told them what happened, they said send it in and I got a new rod replacement in less than a week. If you are in the casting kids club, you might get 1 of the reels that I donated to them .Even then it wasn't exactly free, bass pro shop gave you a credit coupon for each reel you turned in. The amount determined on how much you spent , The more you spent ,the more the coupon was worth. ;D P N J
