Default A request

I know that we have some spiritual folks on here, and I am asking for their prayers/good thoughts for my Dad. While I am not religious, I am not agnostic either. I just don't know that prayers do much more than bounce off the ceiling.

Last week they removed part of my Dad's lung. Currently, his lungs, kidneys, and heart are failing. I do not expect miracles, but I do not want him to suffer.
If you all would be kind enough to keep him in your thoughts, to God I would appreciate it. I also ask that the family have the strength to make a very tough decision in the next few days.

Thank you
Tom

Cass, I'm really sorry to hear about your dad. I really do feel for you, man. My dad past away seven years ago due to cancer and it had to of been the toughest time in my life. But you know what, what made all the difference for him and us, were all the prayers. It's hard to explain it, but during those last few days, I could tell he was no longer suffering. I could tell that he had found peace and was finally ready. And you know, there is no doubt in my mind, it was the prayers that gave my dad strength to rise above the pain and for us to say Goodbye. Cass... I pray that God's Peace, be with your dad and your whole family through all of this. I'm real sorry man.

I'm very sorry to hear about your dad Cass. Your dad and family will be my prayers. It's going to be a tough time for all of you in the comming days. Having gone through the same thing with both my parents and inlaws, I know that while prayer may not change the outcome, I know it strengthens the spirit. My dad was about to leave us and we did a prayer chain around his bed. By that evening, he was sitting up and eatting dinner just fine. Ultimately, he did leave us a week later, but for that week we got to spend quality time with him before he passed. I have no doubt the prayer made the difference for that week.

Tom...... llisa and i are praying for your family and oyur father. It does help, i know this from experience. Like woody said, it is hard to explain and i am NOT a wise enough man to try. It comes down to faith. I have faith that your dad will be in a better place. I ain't preaching to ya [pal. Lord knows there were times i questioned HIM myself, but that ain't our job to question. We are to let HIM control things.
We will pray for you and your family in this time of need buddy.

Prayers from Georgia, Cass. They do work, maybe not always the way you think they do, but you have to beleive that the Lord is listening and will do the right thing even if we don't immediately see what that might be.

Sorry I didn't respond earlier, Cass, but I lost my dad sort of the same way a year ago last week, and your post really brought all of that back. I hope you guys were close, and maybe did some fishing together. Boy, those photographs and memories of good times are important to hold on to. I'll be praying for your Dad's recovery, but know that nobody every really dies if they are loved and missed.
