Who am I kidding, it was great.

I spent the morning of Superbowl Sunday out on the water. I chased the tourt for a little bit with no luck. Around 8:00 I started working rock piles with a jig. I picked up two dinks quickly and was ready for a bass catching event, but it wasn't meant to be. I picked up a couple more in the shallows on an IKA, but these appeared to be lone wanderers.

I tossed tied on a morning dawn DS which a catfish inhaled. I was rather shocked to see him as I flipped him into the boat.

At noon, my bride brought my number 1 fishing partner to the lake and we rode around for about 20 minutes.

I ended the day with 6 bass and 1 cat. I won't say that they were all small, but the 7 fish combined would have been pushing it to make for a 7 lbs stringer. Still a great day on the water. I kept waiting to catch a keeper to take a picture of it, but it wasn't meant to be.

I have yet to hear about how the new boat runs. How does she go?

Oh and BTW I am going to have to jump off a cliff if I hear one more person talking about their fishing trip. j/k I bet it was fun.

The new boat is doing great. I had a few learning issues on the maiden voyage, but other than that she is fine. Sunday was the first time on a lake that allowed a wake. I don't know how fast she is, but she is fast enough for me.
I still need to work on putting her back on the trailer at the end of a trip, but everything else is going fine.
