Default I should have stayed home

Yesterday was a fishing day that I would just as soon forget. I am sure that karma bit me for something, but I am not too sure what it was.
I got to the lake about 30 minutes before the gate opened so I proceeded to do all of the important things like putting the plug in and unstrapping. Since the gate was not open yet, I was parked on the side of an entry road. As I walked to unstrap the boat, I stepped into a puddle that I excepted to come up to my ankle. This particular puddle came up to my knee. Water proof boots don't help much at all at that point.
I continued with the normal setup and situated all of my gear into the boat. This included a ball cap and my sunglasses.
Once the gate opened, I paid the automated attendant and proceeded to launch. Everything went smoothly until I climbed into the boat and hear the audible crunch of my sunglasses under my boot. Luckily, I don't own expensive sunglasses so the cost was not a big deal. Besides I keep a backup set in the boat. I reach under the dash and grab the back up set. I give them an easy toss to the front deck of the boat. My easy toss was apparently the perfect angle for the glasses to skip one time and land in the water. While I do keep 1 backup set of glasses, I don't keep a backup to the backup so it is a glasses free day.
I proceed to the first spot and begin tossing hula jigs into the rocks. It only takes a few casts to hook up to a small but feisty bass. I decide to play the fish a little and loosen the drag some. The one thing I did not think of while this was happening was to stop the trolling motor. Sure enough the fish wraps on my still spinning prop. I am still able to land and give a good release, but I then spend 15 minutes untangling line.
Fast forward to 10:00(ish) I hook up to decent fish via drop shot. While reeling in the fish, I need to move one of my other rods that is in the way. I go to set it behind me. I still do not know how, but I missed the deck and dropped the rod straight into the lake! Fortunately the lake is gin clear and the rod is in ten foot of water. Following a clean release of the fish I am able to use a jig head to retrieve my rod.
The final "on the water incident" occurred when I was walking on the back deck. One of the storage compartments breaks when I stepped on it. The whole compartment just gives way.
Everything was going fine on the drive home, but Karma was not done with me. While backing into the driveway my front tire of the truck was against the curb. I gave it a little gas to get over the curb. Unfortunately this meant that I put the motor a little too close to the garage door. The good news is that my wife won't notice the dent until I am on the water again.

The only good thing is that I was able to find fish and baits for my tourney at the same lake on Saturday.

Yeah, it beats sitting inside at a computer all day with a break to go shovel snow.
I'd chalk it up as a learning experience. I broke a couple rods on the cletes not long after I got my boat and now I have learned to not set them anywhere near the cletes. At least until I can save up enough for nice pop-ups, things are ~$60 each!

You've got a syndrome that follows me on a regularly basis. It's like the Pigpen cloud or something. Bad thing about when I went Monday, I boated nada for 7 hours and only 2 strikes.

Cass, I've done the garage thing. Twice! Expensive lesson to learn.
