Fish Finders
Just a heads up on fish finders. For what it matters I am now convinved that Lowrance is the tops in fishfinders. Just got through the other day installing the new X52 on the bow of the boat and impressed is by no means the corrct way of saying WOW!! This unit ROCKS. So good went ahead and order a second for the console now. I been using various units mostly cheaper ones and am thouroughly convinced tha a person needs to get the MOST they can. And the NMEA 2000 OPTION IS THE TICKET. You can monitor everything froma single location. Being that I have a connection @ BassCat I can get these units at dealer cost. The clarity and user friendly options on this unit are the best I have seen in a unit that doesnt cost the farm. I ahve been guilty inthe past of saying this is good enough but nomore. I have always depended on my electronics to paint a pic of the structure before but now I am more in tune of the REAL picture. Yes I like the unit (you can tell I am sure). I always thought they cost tomuch in the past but Lowrance has really done it this time.

What is the cone angle on this one? I am going to get new electronics this year and was wondering if I should go with a super wide view model or not.

i normally don't like humming bird depth finders but humming junky does make ONE good depth finder. a in dash flasher with transducer and temp gauge. hey i did not steal it but it was close $20. not sure when i may install it yet.
but lowance are a good system for the money. i prefure eagle. the rear depth finder can be a narrow cone. but it is a must to have a wide angle cone up front. eagle all have 60 degree coverage cones.. zooker

We are in the process of tearing out our Humming crap and putting in lowrance right now. Can't get our humming to show the wrecks and reefs below like they need to so we know were on our fish. All we get is a bunch of interference. Good bye humming crap.

Its got a 20 degree cone with it. On the dual freq model which is the X59 you can get the optional 35/12 degree cone. It is actually used more in saltwater due to the depths out there in the big blue. I am able to purchase these for 150 apiece. Some people fall in a barrel of chit and come out smelling like a rose HUH ZOOK. Cheapest in dash I can find is 199.

Yes the major thing with the dual frequency is when were out in the deep blue yonder. Other than that it is not needed.
