lol had a group of 4 at my house the other day by the time I went in and got my camera all but one had left. Thought that one was gone before I got a good shot of it. But then it stopped, looked back and seemed to realize I didn't have a gun or a bow. Lifted it's tail and walked slowly off as if to say.. "Neya neya... you aint got no gun.. kiss my butt." lol

I take pics of deer all the time,but caught both the mother and fawn at prime time,was driving along and spotted them 60 ft off the road,stopped and had to open hatchback as had placed camera in the rear,then along comes a truck and wanting to see what I was aiming camera at parked between us,sharp rap on the passenger window woke them up,and yes both still there.Simple two lane paved country road,and had pulled off on upper correct side.Just lucky.
Have been told that capturing feeding time like that is rare.

VERY nice indeed man. we have this momma doe who has twins bout every year. we watch her and the babies jump and play around RIGHT behind the house most every year. but we have never seen a fawn feeding. awesum picture.

I like it. We.ve got so many deer around here that the DNR has been releasing coyotes the past few years to thin them out, not to mention the most liberal limits and aggresive poaching I've ever seen. Put out a salt block-corn bin last year...neighborhood deer are as close to tame as they can get without being hand fed.

BTW now the coyotes have become a problem in their own right! yall got um too?

Yup, they did the same thing on Fort Bragg with coyotes. Now they're all in the neighborhoods trash etc. Dumbest thing I ever seen.

^^^^happened in PA too, although the DNR denies they released the 'yotes.

Actually they had help from an unexpected source,the eastern yote that started in ny,that spread rapidly,was determined to come from a western state when the dnr traced it back,the trail led to insurance companies who had purchased them.They released in the hopes of thinning the herds and thus less vehicles would be damaged by hitting deer.
Over a period of time they developed some characteristics of their own including coy dogs or mixed.
So as an expression only let the good hands people take care of your problems.
But the true eastern yote had been extinct for ,many many years prior not even in Maine.
What the dnr tends to deal with is more like ga red wolves,and they have a hard time competing with yotes.Wolfs (grey) were recently delisted up in some northern states due to dnr transplanting,but seldom do they stoop to work with yotes.The mixed coy often gets larger and preys nearer to man, not a month ago they killed a calf within sight of my home in broad daylight.
