Default Florida Pond Bass

Caught 4 decent fish this morning using a Rapala X rap Shad Shallow. This lure has been killer for me lately. Very effective in ponds with grassy or mossy bottoms.

Nice haul PA, and welcome to the boards. What did you do, try to cut the 2nd one's tail to get him out of the slot? Just joking, nice fish.

Were you jerking the X-rap, or just using straight retrieve?

Welcome to the boards as well. Very nice fish. If you don't mind me asking, what part of Florida were those caught in?

Thanks guys. I caught these in my apartment complex's pond in Ocala. I was using a slow retrieve with a quick 1-2 jerk.

looks good... wife's family lives down in that area and an uncle is always fishing the ponds and streams and drainage ditches... he can pull a few 14-18" bass out of the most unlikely places...

Very true. Florida has a lot of small ponds and ditches that hold some nice fish.

Nice looking fish man! I should one of though x-raps out, I've got a couple of grassy bottom lakes that need some fishing! All the grass in down low right now with the colder weather... I bet an x-rap over the tops would do very well!

I would definitely give these a try bassboss. They have a very realistic action to them and they are very easy to fish.
