Not sure if Michigan has a lifetime or not.
I'd look into it, but I can't wait to get out of this state!

Hubby and I renewed today. $36 for joint licenses. $20 for individual. We don't have lifetime licenses here but the hubby got his lifetime license when we still lived in AL and it was $150. It has already paid for itself.

I think we do okay with quality lakes here, too. 2 of the top 11 from Bassmaster's Top 100 bass lakes were from MN. Plenty of good walleye, pike and musky fishing as well.

Of course I have a lot of personal stuff keeping me here also -- lots of family (including parents in their upper 70s and many young nieces/nephews who like to fish), a place on a lake to retire to in 6.5 years (with approximately 400 lakes within 25 miles), a fantastic job, and a large group of close friends.

Can any of you sea coast guys explain to me how and why you have to have a salt water license. Like to me having to pay for one seems like robbery. I can understand inland waters being managed but the ocean?

The whole saltwater license thing is a mystery to many of us who took it all for granted for years, but the fact is that most coastel fisheries are hyper managed. Not always very well but managed nonetheless. I'm sure Capt Mike could shed some light on the subject.

Like Ken said, year long is $10, I think if you buy seperately the salt water it is another $10. You can get a week long for like $6, so I usually just get both cause of the chance I'll fish the saltwater more than once.

A non-resident six month is $58 (I think its 6 month). Texas also has day liscenses that I think are like $10, they are called the "Lake Fork" liscenses, least that is why they have em, and now I guess for Falcon and Amistad too.

My license is around due for renewing now, it ends at the end of march, usually we get a letter with a special code for making it easier for processing, but our postoffice are doing the renewal codes via email, and i'm getting worried as i have not recieved the email yet whereas other folk have, I will give it 'till next week then I'll have to ring them up and see whats happening with my renewal code.

oh also on topic, it costs me £27 pounds for coarse and non migratory trout where as fishing for salmoniods and migratory trout it is £72

Arkansas is 10.50 for a resident license, and 5.00 extra for a trout stamp.

I had read that the price of Michigan licenses will be going up, yet it still shows the same price on the DNR website.
According to our shop mechanic, once it changes, there won't be a seperate $15 license for restricted and a $13 add on for all species. He claims there will only be one license, all species, for $25.

Apparently, hunting licenses are being raised though

Well in the Potomac I carry three licenses.
USCG 6pak
PRFC Guides License
MD FGR
then the boats need stickers to cover the customers. 3pak and a 6pak charter boat sticker.
Then I need a VA salt and fresh license to fish the tribs in the lower bay.
Plus I get a NC license to surf fish as well. Plus truck permit.
I also need a DC license..
And now I have to carry a TWIC Card to guide.
Lets not mention insurance since this is just about licenses. Whew that is a pretty penny.

And this year I will need a Homa, LA fishing license and maybe a RI and CT license.

Just out of curiosity, when does your season start?
May sounds like a pretty good time to break even.

That's great that you love what you do! Makes a world of difference. At least I'm guessin it does

Didn't think they could, but Ohio is now printing the licenses on cheaper paper than last year, so I had to pay $1 to get it laminated. So make mine $20, lol.
