Default Here's a neat record catch.

58 lb Musky....on 8lb Flouro. line.
Wonder which brand?

My guess is seeing he was fishing SM on 8lb, the rod must of been a Med. Power.
Lot of guys throw 8lb for smallies on Med. Lite when fishing 15' or less., so who knows.

If it's the one I think it is and I remember correctly he was fishing a 7" sucker for smallmouth on a 1/0 hook with no leader.

All my life I've fished a lake that is noted for big muskies. For the first 40 some years I fished there for walleye catching the occasional bass. The last years after that I have switched to bass fishing. I have never hooked a muskie buy accident. The closest I ever came was when one blew up on a frog I was tossing along side some pads. Every year there are reports of people fishing for walleye and crappie there that land a big muskie. Countless hours of trolling and casting not one. Maybe some day. Oh I have thrown some bucktails and a ferw muskie lures and nothing.

I don't know if I've fished a lake that even holds Muskie.
Crystal, maybe

I too fish a Lake full of Walleye, Bass and Musky. Delavan Lake.
Pike, 36" one fish limit plus 18" one bass limit.
Next Wi. record Musky may come from this lake, they say.

I too only get hits on Frogs.
But the Musky here love frogs.
I lost so many frogs to Pike, I now use a 'fly leader' when frogging here.
