Strike King Rage tail line
It's already been a long, cold, and snowy winter, so I've spent quite a bit of time in front of my computer looking for new and or replacement baits for this coming fishing season.
I've become fascinated with Strike King's Rage Tail line of soft plastics. For some reason they just seem to appeal to me with the "claimed" great action of the Rage tails, which are more of a claw. I've already decided on the Rage Tail Shad for topwater applications, as I really think it's the real deal. But I can't decide on which way to go with a new creature type bait that will be primarily used for working along weedbed edges, rock walls, and flats. I like a more compact plastic between 4 & 5 inches. I just can't decide between the Lobster, craw, or the Monkey. Anyone have any preferences for one vs the other and why? I'm leaning towards the Monkey as I've been a big fan of the traditional creature baits.

Man you will be happy with the rage tail.I just throw it out and reel it back and it really has a great action. Some of my biggest bass came off rage tail shad(smoke, white)and frog..I have a box with just ragetail and hooks..By far my favorite summertime bait.

Basscrazie - looking at the catalog right now. How do you rig the toad and shad? I'm guessing weightless but don't know for sure. also what hook do you use? Thanks.

You rig the Shad tail up weightless.
Funny thing. Up until the Rage Tail line of plastics came along, I wasn't a big fan of Strike King's plastics. I've had a few bags of Their Shaw Grimsby (?)stickbaits, and just never used them. Now it seems like I keep on replacing one type of plastic after another with the Rage Tail.

I've used the craw, and the frog. By far my favorite frog.
And I recently purchased a pack of the new anaconda's. Can't wait to try them this summer. BB
