Default 8/30 Golf Course

Took Jake back to the course yesterday. We had a tough day that didn't start until 12:00. We fished until about 4:00. Jake caught one bass on a Power Worm and a Bowfin that weighed about 3-4 lbs. I caught 1 bass on a Manns -1 that went about 2 lbs and then another good one that went 6.2 lbs. Biggest for me this year by .2. This fish made it back to my dad's pond. Was slow in the middle of the day but we had a good time. We went back to my dad's later and I caught a 5 lber on a Spro Popping frog. Twas a good weekend!!!

Big one was caught on a 3/8 oz Firetiger colored Booyah Spinnerbait. Same one I caught the 6 lber on the other day. They like spinnerbaits there!

That looks like a real bass to me--a very nice real bass.

Thanks guys! It's cool to watch him fish. He was actually "flipping" his worm to a brushpile just off the bank. Said he learned to do it watching me. It makes me proud to see how well he fishes at 6 years old! I may have the next Van Dam!

Nice fish! I dont know about your place but at woodcock dam where i sometimes fish the game commission tells us if we catch any bowfin that we have to kill them. They say they're dangerous to the other fish. Apparently a bowfin eats EVERYTHING, including fish, fish eggs and plant life.

All I did with that Bowfin was grab the hook with the pliers and shake him off! I thought about taking him out but I feel some predators are good for a pond. I'll take the big ones out though.
