Default Monkey Bites -

Decided I needed to upgrade my crankbait rods, so having sought the Monkey's wise advise took the plunge. I received a set (3 rods) of the new Kistler Argon crankbait rods today. I had the Kistler Graphie Plus composite blank rods, but they weren't really suited to fishing deep cranks, so I started looking and decided to try the Argon 7'9" MH crankbait rod. Then the Monkey sunk his teeth really deep and shook his head - telling me I really needed all three of the crankbait rods or I wouldn't be satisified. Let me tell you, the Monkey was right. I am glad I got the set, I would not have been happy keeping the Graphite Plus rods once I had the Argon in my hand. The Argon is a sweet stick, very close to the Helium LTA. I liked the Graphit Plus rods, but they pale in comparison to the new Argon. The Argon rods are technique specific and an exciting addition to the Kistler line of rods. They also come with a "rod sock" which is more like a heavy fabric rod case - zippered butt end and it covers the entire rod with the reel only exposed. Nice little addition.
