Default Big stocker trout

My buddy Ryan and I got to Lake Shawnee today to chase some of those big trout I've been hearing so much about. Not sure how many we caught but after a slow start we figured them out pretty good and both of us got our limits on top of releasing several each and I got a bonus crappie. Little Cleos were the main bait of choice but we also caught 6 on a Ned rig just to see if we could. My first trout of the day was also my new PB at 5.79 pounds.

One of Ryan's next fish was a pig and his new PB at 6.43 pounds.

I caught 1 over 4, 2 over 5, and Ryan had his monster over 6 to round out our 10 fish limit of fish that we kept. That's a 1X8 board in the picture for scale.

My two piggies, the 5.79 pound fish and a 5.41 pound fish.

That's awesome! Those are some big rainbows, they look delicious. I'm glad we're not doing a trout contest too.

Nothing better than a good meal as a reward for a good outing.

I'm thinking the four on the right would look RIGHT on my plate!

Congrats on a good day!

We noticed that last night, I have no idea how we didn't notice that we had 11 We counted them going into the livewell, coming out, and I counted them on the ground. Then a friend of mine pointed it out that there's an extra trout in our picture last night I guess I'll just have to keep 4 instead of 5 next time.

All these trout pulled like crazy. I caught almost all of mine on a 6' 8" ML/XF dropshot rod with a 1000 Symetre and 6lb test. It took well over 5 minutes for me to land my biggest one and it did several acrobatic leaps during the fight that really made it even more entertaining. I'm sure I'll be back next week chasing them again but this time I'll be using my fish clicker when I'm putting them in the livewell

AWESOME fish, man! As far as your counting skills go......

And I like how that first picture makes it look like you're just ignoring that huge black tornado behind you!

Ok Clayton.
I need Ryan's and it was John with you for the Bass, right?
I need Ryan's and John's E-mail address'.

I need to send them a couple of BANANAS to hide in your boat!
I haven't even broke water/ice yet.

No idea what Ken and Dean are refering to.
Wisconsin math counts 10 fish....I use the same math formulas as Kansas Anglers I guess.

Keep the pics coming Blue.
Wish I could write you in on my Bass Fantasy Picks!
