Default fish finder problem

I'm trying to get my new used boat ready for the water and noticed that my dad cut the transducer cable for the fish finder I cant figure out why he would do that. can only figure that it was to long my question is can it be spliced or can i get a new transducer cable or is the hole fish finder junk? thanks guys

Match the colored wires to each other and solder them back together, cover with electrical tape and then seal in silicone
