get a bigger pic or the area photog. if you are talking about the part where the wood is coming through, i say bondo it or glass it.

well i thought the livewell sat down next to that stringer, but it didnt. maybe i should cut a piece of wood to fit in there and measure over to the next stringer.. then just lay it in there , screw it down and glass over the crack..

it needs drive shaft seals, and a water pump.

the water pump is pitted, so he said i could get by with an impellar. one of the blades is chipped so i have to have it.

Impellar- 28 bucks
drive shaft seals- 11
gear oil plug o-ring 1buck apiece
oil.. idk

its getting picked up today, i may get it put on tomorrow and be on the water soon

the pressure and vac. test was 20 bucks.. well worth it, i got my drive shaft seal, impellar, oil, and plug seals for like 50 bucks.. not bad.

tomorrow i'm taking it to school and get the coach to install it. i'm getting to school early, and then getting anthonys yoda to drive back to the house and get the stuff.. i live like 6 minutes from school, so its not that bad.

after school i'm gunna try and get that beast on and go run it in the barrel some.

then i've got someone coming to look at a VW i've got up for sale.. so hopefully i'll make some $$ tomorrow too.

i get 15% of the total... and if i get the bug and bus sold i get 210 bucks..not bad for just advertising and doing buisness..

well as most of yall know, the transom broke on memorial day.

today, finnaly we got back into it.

We [I] cut the actually cracked part out and we cut off the little L bracket thing that held the other board.

so its going to totally be re-done. i'll write more later.. gotta go

Well today we got alot of progress..

we bored 6 holes and its stronger than it was when i was done before.

its pretty awesome when your dads job is to coordinate work on projects at his workplace.. so he called up one of his work contractors, and they made him two plates.

We've got two pieces of plywood that will be fiberglassed togeather, i dont remember the size though.

As it sits right now, with the 6 bolts through the transom i can hang on it, and it dosent move anywhere near as much as it did before, when i was done. Tommorrow were going to lay a layer of fiberglass over the existing fiberglass to form the corners, and then were going to clamp everything togeather and bolt it in, so hopefully, it'll make the 1st board stick in its positon

then we'll put fiberglass over the back and the 1st board and clamp it all back in place, then bolt it back.

then 3rdly were going to fiberglass over the back and the 2 boards. and then that layer will be contoured to the sides and make the back a big single piece. then the top will be slid back into place and then the whole back end will be re-formed to fit everything. It wont be painted, but i'll be lake bound. and this time, its got to rip off the back end of the boat to come off.

today we got a nice good layer of fiberglass down,

its all laid in 3 layers. 2 mat and 1 cloth in the middle, then we smashed the board up against it and got it clamped good and tight.

hopefully it'll stick the first board to it, and then tommorrow, we'll run another 3 layers of fiberglass. this time, covering the back and the 1st board, then we'll clamp it again all togeather.

lastly, we'll take the last layer, and cover it all, the corners, and then tie it into the sides of the boat inside and out to make the back nice and solid.

One of the greatest things about this thread is to see a younger guy with the work ethic and stick-to-it-ness to see a project like this through. Looking good Photog!

This has been one of the best boat reads I've read in a long time. Keep up the good work!

I have a couple concerns: if you're not using a marine grade or treated plywood - you may have a serious rot problem in only a couple years. If you apply carpet directly to the wood floor it will hold moisture. Unless you have plans to somehow seal all the untreated wood against any moisture intrusion, you may have problems in a very short time. I've seen boats with marine grade plywood floors begin rotting out in 7 years or less. The other thing is, how much weight ARE you adding to the hull?
