Default New PB rainbow

Went with my buddy and his son and braved the cold and wind to chase some trout today. We didn't catch as many big ones as we did last week but I did get my new PB with a 6.70 pound rainbow that ate my Little Cleo right next to the boat.

Christopher hasn't trout fished much but he didn't have any problem holding his own and caught some very healthy trout himself.

Clayton, I was thinking what a great angler you were back looking at your GREAT pics!
How you truly are as versatile an ANGLER I've ever probably known.
How you fish just for the sake of fishing. You fish because you planned to fish, period. You know what works but like to toss something new or tweak the presentation seeking to just get a little better. You enjoy success as a by-product of your passion.....and you share your passion with a lot of different anglers.

Then I realized your not a great angler....your a FISHING MACHINE!

blue thank you for the share.
I don't need it but your posts truly motivate me. Like I need to be motivated to think about fish.

I caught my first steelhead, which is basically an oversized rainbow on a silver and blue Little Cleo many many years ago fishing a stream off lake Michigan. Thats a good little spoon! Congrats on the trout.

Congrats man! I got my PB rainbow, about 5 pounds, this winter. I'll try to upload it soon, so more of y'all than just Bama can see it.

Well done, that fish is as big as many steelhead.

Actually, when I caught my first steelhead last summer, some locals jabbed at me by saying "nice trout".

But with you, really, niiiiice trout.

Another great outing, Clayton -- way to go! And congrats on the PB rainbow. Looking forward to seeing your 70% (or higher) LM or SM for the contest you guys are having.

Thanks Dean. I'm going to try to go get a bigger rainbow this Thursday and then I'll really be working on a 70% or better smallie. I lost one in the 6lb range last year (our state record is 6.88). Now I live less than an hour from that lake so I'll be out there a lot this year looking for her or one of the several 5 pounders my friends and I have caught out of there the last couple years. I'd like to find this gal again! My buddy caught a 5 pounder last year off the exact same spot I caught and released her so maybe I'll get her this year

Quite frankly I'm riddled with doubt

@dean......even though it's not explicitly stated in the rules I took it as a given that a single contestant could not claim more than one place. I can't think of a perfect analogy at the moment but..........no one can finish in more than one place in a tournament

i spent the afternoon pouring some super soft-super custom-super slick swim baits, so all I can say is.................yall better get your best holt

notwithstanding these gems...when all is said and done more is said than done...................well done is better than well said.........wind from the east fish the least..........it's always darkest before the dawn...........he blurbs at dusk scwanks in darkness and curses the fog........duhhhh
