cool jig setup
Has anyone read the article in the new bassmasters magazine about how kevin sharp fishes a carolina rig but with a jig on the bottom and a sinko on top. also how he texas rigs his jigs. The texas rig idea will save me lots of headaches with hangups and snags.

I personally don't think fish really "bite" the weight in a C-Rig.
When some folks say, "Oh, their hittin' the weight. I need to add a PNJ." Well of course a PNJ in place of a sinker will catch fish, but if it's just a plain weight, I really don't think that many fish are biting the weight. Just my $.02, -Lunk-

I'd just blame it on the dumb bluegill.

LL. i personally think that fish will bite the weight on a carolina rig. not because it looks like food to them, but it will stir up dirt and silt plus make a lot of clicking sounds that can imitate food.

I submitted a thread a couple years ago about using a jig as the weight while drop-shotting. Someone said they call it a bubba rig, so I wasn't the first to think of it. I always rig my drop shot like that, but I've only caught one fish on the jig so far.
