Freaking awesome right?! Yet another reel to over that I'll never be able to buy!

The next challenge is to find a rod and line worthy of the Zillion-R!

While the reel does look sweet, it's basically a 50th Anniv Zillion with a black paint job and a carbonfiber handle...

Not to mention is weight in at 8.5oz. I think Daiwa dropped the ball on this one. Rumor had it that this was going to be a lighter version of the Zillion (maybe Magnesium, possibly Daiwa's Ziaon material), and lighter it is not. I was hoping for a lighter, possibly TD-Z like spool, and again was disappointed there...

Yet somehow, I still want one!

Hmmm... Yes it looks nice, but other than a cosmetic redo and a few bearings what is the customer gaining for the price increase? I might as well stop drinking starbucks coffee for about a month and a half to make up the $80 difference and get a steez which would be lighter and probably better.
