A 3/0 EWG should work with those DL. Are they as thick as the 4" dingers? Try it out and let me know.

3/0 is WAY to big. I would try wackr rigging them with a finesse hook or a split-shot hook. You may be able to eek away with a 1/0 hook. Evn that may be too big though...

It's all personal preference and depends on how you plan on fishing those baits. Personally I would have no problem using a 2-0 or 3-0 wide gap hook for that size bait if I'm texas rigging it. Some guys may use a 4-0 on the 3" dingers. I've heard other guys say they use the biggest hook they can get the bait threaded on. If I'm wacky rigging it or drop shotting I may go with a smaller circle type hook. Find what works best for how you plan to fish the bait and go for it.

Das right. And the length of the worm shouldn't matter, unless you're talking about a bait so short, that the hook is longer than it. I use 4/0 hooks as well.
Later Edit : And the fish will have to grab less of the worm to bite the hook.

I'd go with like a size 1 EWG. Although I've never used anything that small
