Default Can anyone recommend....

A video explaning sonar and how it works, what im seeing on the chart and or structure scan when it comes out.

I got a new HDS unit this last summer and as of now I just have a general knowledge of what im seeing on the chart.

Thanks, Mojo

First, MoJo, I am totally jealous you have an HDS. I want one...bad.

To the point. There are gazillions of videos about sonar on, what else? Youtube. There are so many, I'm not even going to recommend one. You will probably watch at least dozens, maybe more of them, until you get comfortable with the concepts.

Check out the links to videos Kevin has on the homepage of this site. I'm not sure if he has one on fishfinders, but you're sure to stumble onto at least a couple pearls of fishing wisdom, in full HD splendor.

Yea I've looked at some just not going into the kinda detail I'm looking for. As far as the HDS units go you gotta get one man they are SWEET. I cant even image when the Structure Scan comes out.

Oh, come hell or high water, I'm definitely getting one. I've wanted to be able to fish open water more effectively, and a really good FF/chartplotter setup sounds like just the ticket.

Just wondering what one you purchased? My tournament partner has two of the 10's, and they are amazing. I can read the front one from the back of a 20' boat!! I would like to get a 5 for my boat

I have the HDS 5 and its awsome the only thing I'm worried about is I heard one the 5 you can't look at structure scan and sonar on the same page? That's what I hear I am not 100% sure.
