At the risk of completely derailing this thread, I will say Citizen Kane is perhaps the most over-rated movie ever made. It is awesome in the same way "Avatar" was awesome...that is to say, it wasn't.

I think its a fine movie. Overrated? Yeah sure, a bit. Its not the most fun to watch, and its not a movie I can watch over and over again. But its a decent film thats probably notable for how it was a bit of an outlier for that time period.

I once took a class that taught the ins and outs of film making. I don't remember much now. I probably would never have watched Citizen Cane had it not been for that class. But since it is considered to be technically the best movie ever made, we we're forced to watch it. I have to admit, knowing ahead of time what to look for, and then deciphering the movie based on it's techniques, it is a pretty amazing movie. We all took it way too deep, I know. But I would gladly watch it again. And Bruce, Avitar was AWSOME!!! HAHAHAHA I loved it AND purchased it.

Keith, do you remember the random parrot spliced into the movie? Was there an explanation for that in your class?

We should watch that in my Film Studies class... just a random thought I thought I'd voice. lol

Been forever since I've seen that movie though, I must have been 10 the oldest. Not sure I even got it back then.

KEITH! You've got to stop confusing BrYce with me (BrUce). Bryce is the big guy in the RED TEE SHIRT. I'm the big guy, that rarely wears tee shirts in public, rarely wears red (calls too much attention to yourself - like a red car - oh wait this is Bryce, never mind), and I change my shirts every day.
