Default I thought the Monkey was off my back -

The evil critter got me again. I thought I was done with him for a while, but I wanted to replace a couple reels. Most of you have probably heard I like Pflueger reels, and the new Patriarch XT has been invading my dreams, directly attributed to Monkey instigation, I'm sure. I have a few of the Patriarch's from last season and I really like them, but a couple of the XT's arrived Saturday. All I can say is WOW, how did they drop 1.2 ounces off the weight of the Patriarch? Don't really know, the carbon fiber handle accounts for some, but the weight difference is noticable when mated to the rod. The improved drag system should come in handy also, although 20# of drag is overkill for bass in my opinion, but the XT drag is a tad smoother than the regular Patriarch. I've ordered another, and I hope it stops there for a while at least.

The Patriarch XT is a real beaut', Boogie. If Pflueger was more lefty friendly, I might have gone that route, rather than the Revos. Good thing for Pflueger though...they took some of the materials and engineering from Abu and used it in their reels. Lower weight and better drag. Abu got the sweet aesthetics from Pflueger...good trade.

Congrats on the new reels. Those XTs are nice looking, I just wish they'd make em in a lefty like nofear said.

Yep, you are a bass fisherman. Which makes the bait monkey a permanent fixture.
