Arrow Tap-Tap

Fished this morning in the pouring rain, between the sound of rain pounding the water, the poor little bilge pump running practically non-stop in a futile effort to keep up with the rain and the sound of my heartbeat throbbing in my ears I could barely hear myself think. Caught a couple dozen like below. They were hitting weightless Tricks and Senkos so hard that the only way to keep them from swallowing past the hook on the first tap was to figure out how to set the hook right BEFORE they tapped it, pretty tough to do on a clear day much less in a downpour.

I hate killing fish accidentally and I think I managed to save most of them but I suppose some collateral damage is inevitable.

Congrats on your successful day! With conditions as you describe, I can well imagine it WAS tough timing setting the hook.

Sounds like an awesome day Ken! Ice is off the lakes and I'm fishing here! Just for crappies so far, but the ice just got all the way off yesterday, so the water's still frigged. Opening day next weekend though! Hope I get into em half as good as you did!

Kenneth i had a sinilar weather day raining in the 60's all day landed about 15 small bass and 1 3 pounder. Just about an hour in while fishing a crankbait. I caught this BEAUTY my pb.
Btw the clouds were out all day. The shades were 4 the people i fish with its a saftey thing. They think that they catch a shark on every bite, or limb they bump.
