girl, that is my wifes most FAVORITE lipless crank. her favorite color is chrome with a blue back. i have a box just for the rattle traps. oh yea, the size she uses is 1/4 ounce. great lure. easy to use. just be careful around grass, you'll lose more ya want to. they snag real easy, lol. wife has lost around a dozen so far.

You won't have to worry about hanging up in grass if you use braided line for your rattle traps. In fact ripping it out of the grass is a very good trigger.
Throw your bait over a bed of grass and start reeling when you feel the bait getting hung up in the grass rip it out ( the braid will let you do this without worrying about losing your bait) very often this will trigger a reaction strike especially in the early spring but it'll work all year.

XCalibur lipless baits are great, but they're a bit on the expensive side for a beginner and I've found the paint and finish to suck. The paints coming off of the rayburn red one I have. I've bare;y used and never caught a fish on that onel

I agree on paint. It does suck for the price, but i have caught fish on the chrome blue back when no other on has worked. I think because of the sound.
