Big stocker trout
My buddy Ryan and I got to Lake Shawnee today to chase some of those big trout I've been hearing so much about. Not sure how many we caught but after a slow start we figured them out pretty good and both of us got our limits on top of releasing several each and I got a bonus crappie. Little Cleos were the main bait of choice but we also caught 6 on a Ned rig just to see if we could. My first trout of the day was also my new PB at 5.79 pounds.
One of Ryan's next fish was a pig and his new PB at 6.43 pounds. I caught 1 over 4, 2 over 5, and Ryan had his monster over 6 to round out our 10 fish limit of fish that we kept. That's a 1X8 board in the picture for scale. My two piggies, the 5.79 pound fish and a 5.41 pound fish. |
