Default Man....you think you know people...

I have worked at my A/E firm for almost 5 years now, and it still strikes me how little you actually know people.

I had a Revo STX shipped to me at my office, as I didn't want it sitting on my doorstep for a week while I was away. Well, the secretary brings it to me, and she says "oh, did you get a new reel?"

I'm kind of curious about this as she's 50 years old, married, and the last person I'd ever pick to know anything about fishing. Boy, was I wrong.

She goes on to tell me how her and her husband were down at Reelfoot Lake last year and she caught a 9lb bass, felt like she was the master (mistress?) of the universe, only to have her hubby catch a 9.5 lb'er 10 minutes later. Then she tells me they had them mounted together in the same piece to commemorate the event.

I went from thinking she was just a good secretary to one cool lady in the space of just a few minutes. Awesome.

That is cool NoFear. There used to be a lady that I worked with for years that I always thought of as real prissy, prim, and proper. We used to get a kick out of how she'd come to work, at a grocery store, in nice dresses and all made up as if she was going to church. We happened to be on a break one day about the same time and she asked how I was doing. I said I'd be great when I got off cause I had three days off and was going to spend it fishing. Next thing I knew she was showing me pictures from where her and her husband had been fishing on their vacation, and her in cut offs and a metalica t-shirt holding a string of bream that would make anybody proud. Ya just never know.

Thats a really great story Bryce! Funny how people can suprise us. I met an elderly woman I'd guess to be about 75 working at the gift shop at a Hyatt Regency once many years back. Very frail, sweet and soft spoken. UNTILL I mentioned the Cowboys had gotten beat the day before. She came unglued with passion for football I've never seen. She knew EVERYTHING about the guys on the team including juicy details about there personal lives you'd never hear on ESPN! hahaha Like they say, can't judge a book by it's cover.
