Default casting and blasting

We finally had a break in the weather (sort of) at least it got above freezing for a couple days I started out on a power plant lake Tuesday after I got off work at 8am. Water was colder than expected and they weren't generating so I didn't have very high hopes. The bass were a little slow but the wipers and white bass were going good! I actually started out with a 15 1/2lb flathead on a jigging spoon.

Then I found the wipers, first one on a jigging spoon, then I picked up a jerkbait and just wore them out! Not sure how many I caught but most were 3-5 pounds and I caught well over 50 for sure.

Pair of 6's

Big one of the day was this fat 7 pounder.

Thursday a buddy from work and I decided to do some duck hunting. I've never seen ducks like we saw Thursday, it looked more like blackbirds in the sky there were so many. They just kept coming and kept coming and after just an hour and 15 minutes we had our limits

It was only 9am when we got to the boat ramp to unload our hunting gear so we decided to do some fishing Took us a minute to figure them out but once I picked up a spinnerbait and caught 3 in a row it was on after that. No monsters but a bunch of very stocky largemouth, a few scrappy smallies, a bunch of fat white bass, and one very disappointing carp. Most of them hit the spinnerbaits but we got a few on traps and swimbaits.

Very nice fish and birds Blue but just out of curiosity and certainly none of my business but.............what's up with the first two duck pics? Looks like the background land mass has been heavily "redacted".....reminds of something the DOD might send out after a FOI request

We were at a public lake in an area not noted for it's duck hunting, and we'd like to keep it that way

Nice report and nice pics. Those wipers are a blast to catch for sure. I got into catching them this fall and had a lot of fun with them. Nice haul on the birds too. Duck breast cut into strips and cooked stir fry chines is excellent!
