Default Have you ever seen a tiderunner??

Ok when I was a kid we caught them and at night on soft crab. But nothing like this..New world record..

What the heck is a tiderunner... Obviously it is fish, but similar to what/ found where?

Capt, I actually caught a few brookies this week, but that doesn't much resemble the trout we see here!! I'm smack in the middle of the state....

Oh so tides are not sumptin you see often.

I live and breath tides and when I was on summer break in high school I would siphon some gas and make a suicide run to the surf and fish for tiderunners in the first roll of the waves.. Greys. spikes and specs where the targets.. And sometimes a tiderunner would show up.. or a spot tail croaker..

It is a SMIB thing fur sure..

Never heard of a Tiderunner either. Im guessing thats a nickname? Impressive fish for sure.

Yea its a nickname like choppers and taylors are bluefish..it refers to there size mostly..

Like a buck is a small bass and pig is ....well you know..

This is a grey trout world record. Over about 5 pounds they get called tiderunners and when they are real small they are called spikes.

Also called a weakfish


Not to be corn fused with specs or speckled trout.
