North East Bassfishin.com Gettogether
Well, I know one of these has already gone down and another is in the making. Jim 80 and I have been discussing a gettogether for some of us Northeasterners who wouldn't be able to make the other Get together being planned... It is still in the rough, but we have PMed a few people. I would like to see any interest there would be in this, and discussion would be a good thing. We are thinking somewhere in the tristate area (Delaware Water Gap was my idea, any suggestions would be welcome). As to time, we are thinking somewhere in spring, once the fishing picks back up. Please let us know what you think

that's ok jim. this is what i was wanting as well. as many get togethers as possible. spread the word to all your friends at work, church and family gatherings. make 2009 the start of something that will get bigger and bigger. have as many get togethers as we can in as many locations as possible. and it doesn't have to be just for bass. any and ALL kind of fishing. just get together.
if i can help with anything let me know. |

Cranky, I am interested. You might want to double check the Delaware Water Gap as it is my understanding that the boat ramps at the Gap were closed after the 2003??? (forget the exact year) flooding.

Perhaps the Smithfield Beach launch area? I know the ramp is well maintained and I think there is a park picnic area somewhere in the area.

If you want to have it by a lake, perhaps Pecks Pond or Lake Minsi (one of the two is within 20 minutes from the Gap). They are electric only but we could set up a BBQ area, eat, talk, and most importantly, wet some lines together.

Wishing, I really haven't looked into the Gap too much so I guess you are probably correct. As we said, the suggestions are welcome. I'll check out the places you mentioned

The Susky is doable in my jet boat/
I also would be interested in the Nanicoke. Or the upper Cheasapeake. Or the Sasafras even.. I fished Delaware Water Gap a couple years ago and no boat ramps.. Heck I would even fish the Delaware. But you need to pick a place and date ASAP so I can reserve it before it gets booked up. Capt Mike

Swatara Creek below Harrisburg is nice. I am game but as I said I need to know ASAP. The big smallies are C&R in April till June. But the water is way high till mid May.
I have caught more 5lbs plus smallies out there in April than anyplace else. Beginning of June is best for me. Capt Mike

Jonestown PA is the city and to all those that make it for a two day excursion I will buy you all the biggest steak you have ever seen.
Plus BPS is only 8 miles up the road in Harrisburg. I usually stay off Airport Rd at the days inn when I guided up there..many years ago.. I do remember a Harbor Frieght Store across the street too. Cranky pick the time and we can get the troops together.. Sounds great.. Capt Mike

cranky it seems like you don't need any help pal. you got the place, date and setting the time now. just make sure you got all the things you are wanting to do lined up. keep it loose and let the others say what they are wanting to do and you'll be fine. looking good to me pal.

Is it the 13th or 14th? Let me know so I can get "baby coverage".
Mike, I have yet to take my jet on the Susky. If I come, will you show me the "chutes"? |

Unfortunately, I would not be able to make those days. School Ends on June 17, which means I have finals on the 15th and 16th. You guys can go out and fish though, enjoy and bring back pics. I suppose Jim80 can take over from here

Well Cranky, I am not committed to the June dates. What would work best for you (you are the appointed organizer, aren't you?).
Seriously, why not pick another date after finals. |

Well, It would stink to leave Capt. outta this. I don't know much about his schedule, but I'd imagine its very busy. A weekend later works. Infact, any time after that works, really. Anytime during the first 2 weeks of April is good too, and May weekends I could do as well.
