That's a very interesting concept, I'd love to get some first hand experience with it to see how well it actually does what it claims with spinning reels.

Mankind must be stupid. Of all the fishermen that there are on earth, why did it take so long for some guy to invent that?

I've seen several pictures of this but this is the first time I've seen how it works. Very ingenious idea.

$35 bucks, that seems like a good deal. The only thing better than that for spinning reels would be to take the spool off and fill it from the side on a professional line spooling station that spins the spool. |

I would love to give this a try but if shipping costs you boys $15.50 I could probably rent a pro fisherman to spool my reels for me for cheaper than shipping it to Canada!

I think this is the manufacters home 'on line' sale site. Got there from American Premier's home page. No shipping charge I believe? I've used Berkley's line spooler for a lot of years without a challenge but....this thing caught my attention back during Icast. Think it matters which way you put the line spool on? Printing on line spool down or up. Looks fool proof but if you wind fast I can see the thing getting a head of itself. Let me know anglers cause the Monkeys hungry.

If there is anyone out there who might be interested in picking one up for me and then shipping it to me here in Canada, PM me and we can work out the details.

If you really, REALLY want to experience line twist like you've never experienced it before, buy and use this device. That spinning of the line spool actually CREATES twist, not reduces it.

There are only two methods to put line on a spinning reel with no twist, and in both cases the axis of the spools must be parallel. One is with the spool off, and on a side-by-side winder, as was mentioned. The other is with the face of the filler spool facing the reel, and the line coming off in the same direction as it is being wound on the reel. That's it.

No matter how careful I am spooling spinning reels I have to admit I suck at it.....haha. I have tried all the accepted methods of doing it and nothing seems to help.
What I would really love to find is a way to take the spool off like you say and wind it on that way. I have not seen any line winders that do that though. Any ideas?

But I guess that doesn't look as cool as what he's made.

Great idea, Ken! I've used a drill to unspool a reel, but not spooling one up. Makes sense to me

Here's how I got my Berkley system setup
http://www.worldfishingnetwork.com/u...ed-100433.aspx I found reeling at a steady even pace as opposed to burning it works best. I spool spinning gear more often than baitcast, probably 10+ a season.
