We've got a 16' Tracker Deep-V. I really love our boat, although I would like a bass boat.

Welcome to the board GUNTZ. Just where did ya get that pic of my girl friend. She been hogging up on dem basses again this time wit here clothes on I see. LOL Apparently you got one of the Original Champions. DAMN fine boat I have to say. Always wanted one of the Mean Green 16 Champs to play with. Up North where I liver for 10 yrs that was THE boat. We had some serious contenders with some pretty respectable hp on the champs. You cant take one thing away from a champ.........they may not be the fastest out there but in the long run you cant hardly beat em. They take BIG water with ease and turn like they where welded to rails. Always loved there ride.

That does it....
I'm movin to Texas! Guntz, iffin I had me a fishin partner like that, I wouldn't be reachin fer the fishin pole!
hehe I'm just now getting back into fishing after many years. At the moment, all I have is a 17' Aluminum Grumman canoe (in excellent shape) that dates back to the 50's and has been a shelf in my garage for 25 years or more. I got it out this spring, added a center seat, but had a stability problem. Talked to the folks at the boat factory and they made me some new brackets to mount the seat a couple of inches lower. Also, I had mounted just forward of the center thwart which made us bow heavy. After the discussion with Marathon boat, I removed the center thwart and remounted the seat just rear of center. In order to futher ensure stability, I added an outrigger stabilizer with hydrodynamic floats from Spring Creek Outfitters. Real stable now. However, two poles, tackle box, bait box, big feet - need more organization for fishin. Also need an anchor and an electric TM would be nice. The trouble is this boat is just a bit to much to put on top of the car myself and it sure would be nice to make some trips real early when everybody else is sleepin. My dilemma is deciding on whether to invest in a big boat - I need to see if my new refound enthusiasm for fishin holds - otherwise I dump a few $k on a lawn ornament. |
