ps There's still plenty of time to figure out payouts based on total entries etc....we'll firm all that up last week of Feb.

pss I know all this goes without saying but of course the use of snatch hooks/explosives/nets/seines/chemicals/ is prohibited but......for this contest only we will allow Helicoptor Lures.

What I want everyone to do is PM me and Stick. The subject needs to say "2013 Contest" and include your state in the body. I will then reply with payment details. This will help Stick and I keep track of who's in without having to search this thread repeatedly.

I do want to clarify the rules. I don't care so much what they are as long as they are clear and everyone agrees to them. When the rules are set, there will be no exceptions. When it gets a little closer, I will post the state records for every state that is participating. That way, we're all on the same page.

In my opinion, we should only include LGmouth. Not everyone has access to smallies and I would think it would be a lot easier to catch a 70% smallie because they don't get as big. Take TX for example, the record LGM is 18.18 lbs. The record SM is under 8. It would be way easier for me to catch a 5lb smallie than a 14lb LGM. Make sense? Again, it's really up to you guys but half the field won't even have access to smallies.

Everyone must have a camera and be able to take a clear photo of the fish and the scale and post them in a timely fashion. I am ok with Mule's official tournament postings if everyone else is. Mule, try to get a picture though.

I'm sure I will think of more but that's all I got right now.

Personally I prefer the pics stay here on the site as opposed to going to another site to post and share pics. This is a BF.com contest after all.

I'm not a numbers guy but I'm not so sure the Smallmouth guys really have a percentage advantage. Seems where 5lbs and bigger are common, big bass is big.

Same guy holds record in Kentucky and Tenn. Isn't there reciprocal laws there but still distinct differences from State to State?

Thinking about Jrob and Joedogs views on whether or not to lump Smallmouth in with the LM I'm not sure what we ought to decide. Based on last years SM activity (practically nill) it might be ok just to make it a LM deal. Even coldbasser fishes for and has access to LM, many many of us would have to travel a long way just to see one. I don't know>? Input............

That is so very AWSOME!!! He's going to have his own fishing show on TV someday ya know. Buildin Rods With Walker. It will show a quick build and then a followup as to how to use the rod.

Season here opens May 4th. I don't mind if others get a month or so of a start ahead of us Wisconsin residents. But a couple months more doesn't seem to be as level of a playing field to me. I WILL play regardless, just want to voice my concerns!

Sammy, as of right now the contest start date is 3-1. Joedog has cleared this date and I'm not sure who else the closed season will effect. If anyone else has issue, please let me know and we will figure something out.

Sam it might help to think of the start date more in terms of water temps rather than calender dates. By May 4th for lots of the southern contestants the pre-spawn and most of the spawn will be way over.......yours will just be gettin started! If we pick up a couple of the Fla. guys, they'll feel hamstrung even with a 3/1 start. Say it with me!...pre-spawn pre-spawn-pre-spawn!!
