Default Topo chips

Guys, any preferences on what is the best chip to put in my unit? I have a lowrance, looking for one with the most lakes and best detail.

On the mapping, it depends on what lakes you fish. I use both the built-in Lowrance mapping (shows all the pre-impoundment features well - roadbeds, creek channels, foundations, bridges, etc.) and the Navionics Hotmaps Premium cards (High Def lakes have 1-foot contours). If your lakes are included in the Navionics HD list (highlighted in red, see link below), I'd recommend getting one.

I have the fishing hotspots. I bought it because it has most all lakes in it without having to buy a certain region.

What model Lowrance do you have? I ask because if it's too old, the Navionics cards won't work in them.

All the Lowrance updates are found here:

Yes, current software for the 240 is 1.5.0. Check yours at Menu, Menu, System Setup, Software Info.

So John you went hunting on another board somewhere huh fess up you can tell us we're all friends here right?

While I got ya - you know you can take the SD card out of your phone and view the pictures you have stored on it right on the GPS screen? Y'know on a slow day, when you get tired of looking at dinks and wanna check out some bigguns? Back in a quiet little cove. Pass a little time when things get slow.
