The doctors got his seizures under control yesterday evening. They did a CT scan and found that the seizures were coming from a central location. They plan to do an MRI to get a better look at it, but they all agree that it probably has been caused from damage that occurred weeks ago. The first week after Easton had the heart surgery, he was doing very good and they thought they could remove his vent and let him breath on his own again. His heart and lungs were to weak and on the 2nd day he crashed and was not breathing. During that time they think he may have had one or more mini strokes and that there is probably some damages cells from that. Those cells will try to heal over time and will basically scab over. When that happens, any agitation can cause nerve misfires which escalate into seizures. They are in the process of trying to wean Easton off of morphine. He is having withdrawals which is normal. he gets a little less morphine each day. They think that the stress of the withdrawals triggered the seizures. They have him on a low dose of the meds that control seizures and it seems to be working. He is stable again and I got to see him awake for several hours today. They still plan to do the tracheotomy surgery next Friday.

Thanks for the update Kevin. Britney and I have been checking facebook as well as this site off and on all day hoping for some good news. I am so glad that they got everything under control and thankfully it doesn't sound like anything they can't take care of. You all are about due for some good news buddy.
