Thumbs up Life jacket & kill switch

Unless I go to the gym 12 hours a day for the next 10 years and build my arm strength, I don't think I will be going this fast in my boat. But it is another good wake up call for wearing a PFD and a kill switch. I know some of you guys have the balls to the wall bass boats. And I know some of us fish as co-anglers so you might want to speak up when the owner doesn't hand you a PFD or attach his kill switch.

It will just take a couple of minutes of your time.

Holy crap, he came close to that motor. Lucky he's alive.

It starts happening at about 1:20 in that video. Everything before that is him running the boat by the camera 4-5 times.

Thats exactly the kinda thing I was referring to in the other post about "training" boaters how to safely cross wakes and rough waves.....prime example of what can happen and just how easy it can happen.....glad the dude survived.

even in wakeboarding, you dont try and jump a wake, just the rider jumps the wake

You know after watching this myself you always think about how safe you are in a boat because they say it won't flip over and how safe they are. They show the commercials with 75% of the boat cut out and how it won't sink. But they don't mention that when you are travelling at high speeds, if the momentum of the boat suddenly changes, I don't care how strong you are, you are not going to hold on. It's sort of like a seat belt in a car. People gripe about them, but they will hold the driver under the steering wheel to perhaps help the driver regain control. You don't have that luxury in a boat unless you install them.

Bubba, I just realized that's on Ross Barnett, about 5 minutes from my house. Wow, that makes it even more real...

I meant to mention that I got it off a post on the mdwfp.com forum. I wasn't trying to plagarize or nothing, just trying to hook a brother up. hahahahaha

That's where the kill switch comes in. When he was ejected the kill switch pulled out and did what it was supposed to do-instantly killed the engine. If he had not been using it he probably would have been blended by the prop.

That is one of the worst things that I have ever seen. Life jacket and kill switches for me.
