Default 4/21 S. FL Report

11 today:
7 largemouth on spin
1 largemouth on fly
2 peacock on spin
1 peacock on fly
I went fishing with a friend today. He is not in the tournament I am in on the FS forum, but I measured one of his fish. It was only 16", and now I regret doing it... We keep fishing and are having decent action. Eventually I get a BIG peacock! I realized that I left the measuring tape. I am frustrated because it probably would have been my longest or second longest peacock of the tournament. It was built like the 21 1/4 incher I got and was the same weight. I would have thought that it was the same fish, but it came from a completely different lake.

4 pound 13 ounce peacock on 4 wt fly rod

After I caught this fish, you would have thought that I learned my lesson, but I left my scale where I caught my big peacock. I caught about a 3 pounder on spin - not weighed or measured. That was kind of close, so my friend went and got it for me.

He got a some nice fish...

3 pound 8 ounce largemouth

2 pound 4 ounce peacock

After we were done fishing, I went back and found the measuring tape. As I typed that sentence, I remembered that I have a flexible one I use to measure girth that I could have used. Oh well... It was still a great day of fishing.
