Floroclear?
I thought it was a good line....
While I was fishin' a PNJ today, I feel the tap and set the hook. Line snapped! What the heck? It didn't even snap at the knot, it just snapped. I also lost a Rapala DT10 to this line. Has anybody else had this type of trouble? -Buzz |

I had a lot of problems with Vanish when it first came out. I can remember casting a few spinnerbaits and the line just inexplicably broke midcast middle of the line - and I can remember seeing the spinnerbaits fly far, far away. I think it is a problem endemic to flourocarbon - kinking tends to weaken it I think critically.
Never had much of a problem with flouroclear, but its been a year or so since I used it so I could have forgotten. It didnt seem bad though.

Never had the problem, but have heard many stories like yours and WTL. I too would guess it was kinking that weakens it, but several of the guys who have had this issue had it fresh out of the box????

I don't remember the brand but yes I lost a few to flouro line. Hated watching those spinnerbaits go flying. Right now I am using yo-zuri instead.

If you are talking about P-Line Floroclear then no, I haven't had that problem. It may have been knicked or had a kink in it-I have had that happen with other lines. I use Floroclear for all my mono applications except topwater-I use Trilene Maxx for that-and have no complaints.

I'v enever had any problems with my fluoroclear either, but I cut off and retie when I notice the line is beat up. Although I lost two lures to the bank and to a tree at hudson yesterday cause I pulled to hard trying to pull it loose. We were able to get htem both back though.
