Fishing with Doc Irv in Florida
I can honestly say that fishing with doc is one of the highlights of my miserable life... He is a great fisherman, a great friend, and just a lot of fun to be with. I am blessed that he has allowed me to be his friend.. Thank you Doc for being such a wonderful person....

I may need a new partner for Dale Hollow - Doc may just not survive Florida if I can find a gator willing to dispose of a body for me......................

Amazing..... Bruce tangled with a big gator today. Bruce got hung up in some weeds and used his paddle to push off a big log. The log retaliated and thrashed at Bruce who promptly browned his shorts. The gator took one look and one sniff of Bruce and promptly rolled over onto its back laughing and wiggling his stunted legs. Bruce is alive and well.... still not normal.

Actually, my first reaction was to think I was the one who was going to need a cabin reassignment.

It was just a small 'gator, them dang things lie in wait just under the surface in the grass. I was just turning around in a narrow cut and didn't see it, but they just make a big splash and take off. It is different, and they always show up when you least expect it. But the good news is I'm alive and well, don't know how much longer Doc is gonna last if he keeps this crap up.
Now the bad news - fishing is pretty poor. I haven't a clue why. Weather is BEAUTIFUL, air temps have been in the mid-70's. Gorgeous weather. Water is still cool and pretty heavily stained. We keep looking for clearer water, but in the kayak it takes a lot of time to cover any great amount of water. Tomorrow we'll be on East Lake Toho. Still beats the weather back home, and the kayak part is fun! |

You two guys really crack me up. Love this post. hahahaha Maybe you should go after gators instead of bass since the fishin isn't going so well. At least you could have a wallet, belt and matching boots to show off at Dale. haha

With our luck the gator would have our heads on its ears as souvenirs of a big meal
