Default Anyone Heard of Outdoor Sportsmans Lodge?

Hey guys!

I am a complete salty and write for a few regional and national saltwater magazines. One of my editors has decided to expose me to some fresh water stuff and I need your help. I need to write an article on power plant lakes during the winter. I was referred to a place on Newton Lake in Newton Illinois, the Outdoor Sportsmans Lodge. They claim the average bass is between 3 to 6 pounds; which I assume is a decent bass! They have a decent website but want to know if anyone else has any details!

Thanks for your help in advance!

Yes I have fished it, and yes they have some nice bass. However I don't believe 3-6 lbs is a good estimate. Mostly 2lbers with some really nice fish available. Can't help you on the lodge, since I was never there. There was a angler that used to frequent this site quite a bit that has fished it a lot. I only fished it 3 times, and caught fish everytime. The Rapala X-Rap was killer for one of my fishing partners on there in Clown Color. He caught a few of the 3 lbers. Good fishing to ya. I hope you will post your article here after you are through, and welcome to the Bass Addiction.
