Default Dang, I LOVE Bandit crankbaits!

Flyrod and I hit our favorite electrics only lake today. Flyrod got to fish while I replaced the bunk boards and runners on the trailer. We caught 18 between us, mostly on soft plastics, but I got 4 on a Threadfin Shad Bandit 200. Threw up next to the dam and was rewarded with this toad:

She went about 7-if we had caught her in January or February she would have gone 8-9. Still, it was a thrill to catch and she is still swimming in the lake. And yes, I DO love those Bandit crankbaits!

From everybody's comments on them it seems I am "old news"-lol. I might have to try them this Spring. What colors would you recommend for these Northern Glacial Lakes? I'm thinkin' bluegill or fire tiger(perch).

Thats a toad! Im guessing that was at Boerne City Lake? Went kayaking there last weekend and only managed 2 dinks.

It was, tb-we were along the dam where it curves a little bit.

l-l, either would be good. I'd also get a shad color. The 100 Series is great for flooded timber-it has a square bill and deflects off cover real well and runs 3-4 feet. As the series number increases-100, 200, 300-the deeper they run.

LL, I fish the Bandit 100 in Bluegill with great success. That caught us our two biggest fish of the year. I also like the Rootbeer color. Since Bandit has such a large selection of colors, Go get a bluegill or firetiger or shad colored one, then pick out a couple you just like and try them out.

Nice bass you got there Reb! I'm going to have to get a few of those Bandit cranks everyone keeps talking about. I don't see a color pattern called bluegill in my BPS catalog. I do however see a baby bream, and chrome bluegill. Either of these two the bluegill pattern everyone is talking about? Keep posting your pics. Gives us northern guys something to look at while waitting till spring.

K-Dog - I fished the beejeezus out of the chrome bluegill this season and had moderate luck. it sure is pretty and moves great in the water though!

Bob, it wasn't cold as such-it was cool, upper 60s-lower 70s but there was enough wind to make it a little chilly. Shortly after I caught that fish the sun came out and it warmed up nicely.

What's cold to them down south and stuff is a lot different from what cold is to us up north. We have relatives from Alabama that came up here for christmas last year when it was like 55 degrees out (very warm for x-mas time up here) and they said is was cold! I was practically out in shorts and stuff. Needless to say, it snowed on Easter, but that's not the point.

I have had the Raccoon in my arsenal since the little fellar started making cranks and I aint never looked back. If he speaks he dont speak with forked tongue. Only thing I ever tried to tell the little fellar is maybe put some stronger and better quality hooks on his creations. The Mustad triple grips are good .......dont get me wrong..........but they lack as far as strength IMHO.

Lizards, he was fishing with another buddy of ours on the same lake I caught this on and caught one about the same size a month or so ago. I'll see if I can find the picture.
