Default MHX 874 Frogging Rod

I built this rod for one of our forum's own. He has got it now, so I will throw some pictures up of it. I don't think anyone can mistake this rod for being theirs because it is super bright. I finally broke down and bought a welding hood while I was wrapping it.

St Croix Avid style handle...this took a while to get a good fitting.

Elongated diamond wrap in fluorescent orange, yellow, black, and metallic silver center.

Built with a conventional guide train, he said NO micros. That is quite alright with me.

Hope you enjoy it Wally!

Definitely not my choice of color but the wraps look great! That must be the new Castaway seat, it looks different than the ones I've used before. Nice job on the grip. It's too bad about the micros though, could have been a great rod.

The new ones are a little smoother and not as dense feeling if that makes sense. Personally, I like micros, but I sure don't shy away from someone requesting standard guides. They are a lot easier to wrap for me.

Yeah the seat looks a little more streamlined. I guess I've just wrapped so many more micros than regular guides, it's second nature. I would way rather wrap and finish micros than dbl foots, that's for sure!

Color doesn't bother me too much. It is solid orange Friday (go Clemson!).

I'm sure you will love the rod.

I have two Veritas so I am used to the white rods now. I like the orange. The wraps are cool. I can go either way with the guides. Great looking rod.

You gotta stop keeping the Carrot Stix and Veritas rods in the closet together.

While it is not a color choice I'd make, the combination does lend itself to really showing off the details in the wrap. The high contrast makes it jump right off the rod blank. Nice job
