Well, Gander Mountain just called and basically told me to get stuffed. They told me they would sell me only one of the reels at the advertised price, with no $5 per $50 discount either.

It's not like I ordered twenty of them...I ordered two.

I told them to forget about it, and I would take my future business elsewhere.

They just canceled a ton of future orders. The local store can shove it too, as far as I am concerned.

That really does suck, but I had a feeling they were going to cancel the orders. They shouldn't even be allowed to do that. If they put it up there on accident, that's they're fault. If it wasn't an accident, that's even worse...

I have had GM do this to me more than a few times, and more than half of the time they did not even bother to call. Poor online service- But I get good deals at the store.

well they called me also, I already knew my order had been canceled because the pending charge had been removed from my account. I told them to send me the one that they were willing to. It sucks that i won't get two, but one for that price is better than none and now i can still choose to shop elsewhere.

They left me a message yesterday and I called them back this morning. The gal on the phone told me the sale price on the web site was a mistake and they were losing money at that price and she wasn't authorized to give any further discounts on it. That seems a little hokey to me since their web site accepted it and processed it as a transaction, but I was going to order it for 99.99 anyway before I even knew about the $5 off, so I had them re-order mine at the 99.99 price.

The part that I have a slight issue with (in principle only, not because spending another $5 matters to me) is that the only reason I ordered a pack of senkos was to bump me from 99.99 over the 100.00 mark and I (supposedly) got another $5 off for that. Of course they sent my senkos right away and cancelled the reel order, so even reinstating the order at 99.99 means I bought something I wouldn't have otherwise. Again, it's not like I won't use the senkos or buy lots more of them this year or care about the $5 -- it's the principle of them not standing completely behind an already processed transaction.

All that being said, I'm not going to write them off as a place to shop just because of this one little incident, but then again, I almost always shop at Cabela's anyway since there is one within 5 miles of my house.

If anyone else want's to cancel thier order out of principle or spite, or just had decided they don't want the reel for $99, let me know. I will give you $150 for a brand new 20 size.

I haven't heard anything yet. They said they wouldn't charge my card till they were ready to send the reel. They better send it! I bought a Veritas from them to put it on.
