Reel, Oakleys, A-rig...

Hit TW on cyberweekend. Picked some Oakley's, a Yumbrella rig, and the best for last a new reel.

I got my first Revo Winch. Its the discontinued model, but the price is right. I NEEDED a 5.1 so this beauty has a new home. What I haven't figure out is how to open the breaks or remove the spool. This is my first non-Shimano/Quantum so its new to me. I've looked at the paperwork and checked online for information- I'm missing sumptin.

Little help please???

There's a finger screw on the handle side, at the top/front of the reel, it connects to the opposite side plate. Unscrew that screw and twist the side plate and it comes off. It's the silver screw next to the Abu sticker in the picture.

Nice haul by the way.

Jrob got you squared away on how to get the side plate off to get to the brakes. You will love that reel, I have several of them and they have all been flawless. Something to consider, if you send Proreel that Winch and have him super tune it you will be amazed at how far you can throw a crankbait with very little effort.

That's a nice haul. I got on there the other day but all they had were the LH models.

I have some of the Oakley Pit Bulls with the light blue fishing specific lenses and love them!

Congrats on the new gear! Just don't drop the sideplate in the water. The attached side plate was one thing shimano did right!

Thx all, I got a pair of Straight Jackets(personal preference).
The reel I guess I'll just have to bring my mini-screwdrivers. Thx

It took a few minutes to open the spool. Its damn time consuming. I do like the overall feel.

The screw shouldn't be so tight you can't easily unscrew it with your thumb. Then pull the pin out just a bit (don't worry, it only comes out enough to clear the side plate, you won't lose it). Then turn the sideplate to remove it; can't remember if it's up or down.

While it's not as quick as Shimano's 1/8 turn access mechanism, it shouldn't take more than a 30 seconds. However, I've got my Skeet Reese Revo set with 3 brakes, my STX (with dual brakes) set to 2 and I rarely ever change them.

I set three brakes. Damn, it was so fun. I threw the arsenal with it... senkos, jigs, t-rig, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and lipless.
