How to hook up a dropshot.
I know I've been asking a lot of quesitons lately. Here is another one.
How do you hook your dropshot rig onto your rod when you're done fishing. I hook the hook onto the hook keeper, but the sinker dangles and tangles with everything. I've tried to wrap the leader around the rod handle, but that doesn't work too well. |

Noooo-you? Ask a lot of questions?
I either wrap it around the reel seat when putting it down or remove the sinker when storing it.

I put the sinker in between the roller and the bail arm. It works on my reels and should on most. It seems to be about the neatest way I could figure.

you can take a twist tie like come on a loaf of bread and use it to secure the weight to your rod. i have done this a lot but i have trouble keeping the twist ties....i always seem to lay them on the deck of my boat and forget about them, they don't handle boat rides that well.

I use these: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/st...=SearchResults
Also they work well on any rod without a hook keeper or on some that make my hooks rust. |

Rubberband, piece of string, twisty-tie like Carolina-Rig said, surgical tape, electrical tape, fishing line, lots of different things. I deffinitely would not buy anything for this use, there are too many other options.

I take the weight off if I don't have a piece of velcro. It's not that hard to do or to reattach.

Get some velcro cable ties at Walmart, Best BUy, Circuit City, .... They work very good and are inexpensive.
