Firetiger Skirt
Thought I'd ask some of the guys who've been around a while if they can remember the first Firetiger skirt they saw for spinnerbaits?
Why? Just curious. I know the crankbait color has been around for a while but what about as a skirt. Anybody got a year or a maker? thanks |

The first fire tiger skirt I seen was on a Cavitron buzzbait. It wasn't the todays firetiger color and it wasn't a rubber skirted material it was strands of black/red/yellow/green colored nylon string hand tied to the buzzbait head.I think the Limberneck spinnerbait was the first rubber skirted firetiger I had seen but I only fished Limbernecks and Flecks back then.Fleck used to have a purple /chartruese rubber skirt that looked gawd awful but caught fish.C-Bird Chirp

a "war-ax" spinner bait was the first one i seen with a fire tiger type color. as pnj said the color was differant then todays. i belive it was an orange, red, green skirt seemed to remember it was made of rubber.i think it was made in 84 or 85 i know the head was the size of a 1/2 dallor and twice as thick.

Thanks for the help. C-Bird - yours is very similar to one I saw recently. Zook - '84 or '85 sounds about right. If anyone can recall one being made before '84 please let me know.
