Default Fairly new to non live bait bass fishing

Hello, everyone! I just registered and have a quick question. I'm a little new to artificial bass fishing and was wondering if someone could recommend a good book to get started.

Hey, Relax! Good to have you. I'm fairly new myself, but you'll see you get great input from the renegades, rascals and rogues in this board. In my opinion, as far as books and such you can't go wrong with Bassmaster magazine, In-Fisherman, Bassin', etc. Also, Bassmaster has a series of books that give great info on techniques, baits, seasonal patterns, etc. Also, something tells me you've got a really smart son who'll be happy to let you in on the secrets of this most fanatic sport.
But, I tell you, all that stuff pales in comparison to reading this message board and practicing what you read.

Welcome!

You could also try the series of In-Fisherman videos about bass fishing. They cover about all aspects of bass fishing in this series of movies.

Welcome to the forum!

Rather than a book, here is a great website for someone getting started:

http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/beginner.html

Take a look there, then come on back and ask your questions. There are some pretty good fishermen here, and they are all happy to answer your questions.

Talking Thanks

Many thanks to all for replying to my posted question, I was just talking to (pig) and he really speaks highly of everyone, so THANKS again.

Yes (pig) I feel very fortunate to have a son who spends his time bass fishing and setting me up with the right tools and baits. What is ironic is that I taught him how bait fish and when he was about 4 or 5 years remember tying him to a tree because we were carp fishing and you know how big they get.
Now he puts me in a boat and off we go.

To all a good night.

Hey, welcome to the nuthouse! I too would reccomend some of those magazines like In-Fisherman, Bassin', etc. Also I've learn a lot form the article on BPS Outdoor Library. Watching fishing shows on TV helps too. Like Strike King's Pro Team Journal, In-Fisherman's TV show, and others. Some will help you learn how to do stuff, other will just show the guys fishing.

My dad started me perch jerking with a cane pole around that age. I lost him back in '02 but have a lot of fond memories of fishing with him.
