Senkos
Hey, I am a new member and I have seen alot about Senkos. I have never fished a senko but have seen alot of pros do it. What are some ways to fish them, and any suggestions on colors?
Thanks, David |

Welcome to the site, leave all sanity at the door
Bassbooger is absolutely correct, we talk about senko's it seems like every week. But to answer your question, you can c-rig, t-rig, wacky rig, and drop shot them. Pretty much anyway you want. Most folks fish them weightless with either a t-rig, or wacky rigged. Some people put a kink in it as they t-rig it. It a good bait for deadsticking. By the way knock offs are also available. Here you go, CaptainD:
http://www.bassdozer.com/articles/senko-fishing.shtml A lot of the times we refer to senkos it is a generic term-there are a lot of senko knock-offs that are gaining in popularity-my personal favorite is a Tiki Stick, made by Wave Worms. Lizards is right-you can fish them any munber ow ways-the two I use most ofter are wacky rigged and Texas rigged but with no weight. And welcome to the forum! |

Re: Senkos
i usually fish them wacky style.toss them out,let them sink and sit for a little while.give 'em a shake.if no bite, reel in and do it again, and again...

Re: Senkos
The knockoffs are very good but when fishing them weightless the original senkos work the best. They are a lot heavier and softer so you get better action and faster drop

Re: Senkos
i have yet to get a bite off of a senko, but then again i have only fished the red shad for about 10 minutes. all of my confidence right now is in green pumpkin lizards. they work miracles!

It seems to me that any lure in green pumpkin color works great! |

Re: Senkos
like flfiferman i use tiki sticks alot (probably about 80% of the time my line is in the water)
i usualy fish them weightless texeposed. however occasionally when i can see the fish i fish them wacky style. another thing i do with them is after fishing ONE for a while it starts to rip apart well i use the ripped up part as a trailer on a jig or a some other bait. oh yeah so far my most productive color has been cinnamon with blue flake. and followed closely by watermellon with red flake |
