Default winchester ammo

I know some of you guys and gals are hunters. I could use your help in finding some winchester 270 140 grain failsafe rifle bullets. its one of the greatest bullets made. I recently got a CVA scout single shot rifle with a nikon scope on it. gonna use it for a coyote gun and would like to have some of those rounds for it. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think winchester makes that load anymore.

Good luck
Product has been discontinued and no longer available.
other than finding a box or two at a gun show and even that is unlikely, way ammo is going out the doors.
popular bullet as you and a doz known others currently scouring in forums wanting it.even reloaders use that bullet a lot
Flat shooting used mostly for coyotes yet could be one the most overlooked long range competition rounds.

i traded a guy a 50 round plastic ammo case this morning for 4 rounds! he gave me the old box and the rounds. would like to find enough to fill the box up. did some research and found out the failsafe was part of the winchester black talon line of ammo. i have 2 rounds of the black talon in 357, i would like to find more of those as well.

Good luck man. Maybe some of the other guys can help you out. Looks like it's a hard round to find.

You'll probably end up being anally molested, but try gunbroker(dot)com (the eBay of guns, ammo, accessories, etc) if you haven't already.

They are raping people left and right on there due to the current gun situation we're facing.

Some data from another board if you're into reloading:

Winchester data for a 270 Winchester with 140 grain Fail Safe shows the following:

WLR, 44.5 grains Varget, 2795 fps and 50,200 psi
WLR, 52.5 grains H4350, 2869 fps and 49,700 psi
WLR, 57.0 grains H450, 2862 fps, 50,800 psi
WLR, 56.5 grains H4831, 2890 fps, 50,300 psi

It appears that Winchesters XP3 Supreme Elite is the replacement round for the fail safes'. It's only offered in a 130 or 150 grain.

Hope that might help, but I'll keep an eye out too...

I preferred the 130 grain in my .270 Sako, that gun really liked those rounds.

Nice, I shoot Sako's little brother, Tikka, in a 7mm-08.
